About Safari Hotels

What this site is

Safari Hotels is a planning guide for travellers comparing safari accommodation in East and Southern Africa. We group lodges and camps by destination, describe what each one is like, and point you at live prices and availability with our booking partners. There is no account to create and nothing to pay us — the guides, comparison tool and planning pages are free to use.

How lodges are listed

Every lodge on the site sits in one of three destination hubs — Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa — and is described by the region it sits in, the style of stay it offers (tented camp, budget, mid-range or luxury) and a short summary of who it suits. You can tick up to four lodges and compare them side by side, or open a lodge page for the full description and a link to check current prices.

The star score on each card is our own summary of the lodge's standing, not a verified guest-review average, and it is not a rating body's score. Use it as a rough pointer, then read the lodge page and your booking partner's reviews before you commit.

What our prices mean

Prices shown are indicative, in US dollars, per person per night. They are ballpark figures to help you shortlist by budget, not quotes. Safari rates move with season, room type, inclusions and transfer arrangements, so the live price on the booking partner's site is always the one that counts.

How the site is funded

Safari Hotels is reader-supported. Booking links on this site run through the Travelpayouts partner network, and if you book a stay, flight or tour after clicking one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
